According to a CTBUH report, China will dominate the world's tallest building development in the coming decade.

According to the Council on Tall Structures and Urban Habitat's (CTBUH) most recent research study, 9 of the world's 20 tallest buildings are now under construction in China, which is presently leading the way in supertall building development. فندق

China currently has 239 structures taller than 200 meters under construction, significantly more than any other country. According to CTBUH's research, China completed 23 structures taller than 200 meters in 2011, the most in the world.

There were only 61 buildings taller than 300 meters in the globe at the end of 2011, but China alone will develop more than 60 by 2017.

The rise of China signals a major shift in the construction of supertall structures.

In 1970, North America was home to 92 of the world's 100 tallest structures. Only 29 of the top 100 will be based in North America by the end of 2012.

Timothy Johnson, chairman of the CTBUH and a partner in NBBJ, remarked, "China is grappling with the concerns and problems of creating urban settings on a large scale."

The 9th World Congress of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, which will be held at the Grand Hyatt Jin Mao in Shanghai from September 19 to 21, will focus on China's expansion and the complexity of constructing its cities.

The rapid rise of tall buildings in China has recently received criticism, with some claiming that the structures are overly large and expensive. Skyscrapers were recently referred to as "white elephants" in a newspaper editorial.

Many of the sessions during the CTBUH Congress will address the topic "Why tall?" as well as the challenges of creating sustainable and energy-efficient towers for China's modern cities.

Mr. Johnson stated, "The Congress will provide a place for developers and designers to share ideas and best practices." "The aim is to create well-designed projects that are ecologically conscious and meet the city's demands."

In China, the volume and height of tall building construction is unprecedented. In 1990, China had only five structures taller than 200 meters; by the end of 2012, the country will have 249.

The 660-meter Ping An Finance Center, which will be the world's second tallest structure when finished, most likely in 2015, and the 632-meter Shanghai Tower are among the buildings under construction.
