If you like living in peace and quiet, far away from big cities and without any care in the world, then you might be looking for a traditional village surrounded by some of Spain's most remote countryside. The 'España Vaciada' or 'empty Spain' proves to many a more attractive choice following the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the newest and most curious suggestions for attracting people to the rural villages in Spain is from Olvés, the small town in the Aragon region of Calatayud (Saragossa).

This Aragonese city calls for people who want to take over the community center and only bar in the city after previous establishment managers have left.

It is the only meeting place for the 70 village residents and that is why the municipal council offers a free house for attracting interest and an exemption from paying rents. The mayor of the municipality, Iluminada Ustero, also agreed to pay for the heating, half of the electricity bill, all in order to ensure that the service is maintained and to give a chance for all of those people, particularly for many hotel professionals, who have lost their jobs, or have suffered a significant reduction in income, due to COVID-19.

The Council's ideal target audience is a family (it ensures that there are jobs in the area and in school transport too), although it is open to any suggestion. The only other requirement is that potential owners of the bar and community centers must register as autonomous employees to operate in accordance with the law.

The offer certainly caught the attention of dozens of families and individual citizens and the Olvés Council received information requests and requests for requests from various areas of Spain (such as Seville, Cordoba, Málaga, Madrid and San Sebastián) as well as several inquiries from elsewhere in a matter of days.
